[설해원 클럽하우스 증개축]

설해원 클럽하우스 리모델링은 기능적 확장을 넘어, 설해원이 필요로 하는 ‘정원’의 의미를 새롭게 해석하려는 시도였다. 정원은 더 이상 조경적 요소가 아니라, 장소의 정체성을 회복하는 건축적 장치로 확장될 수 있도록 하였다.

건축에서의 정원은 전통적인 조경 공간이 아닌, 빛의 질감으로 채워진 심상적 공간이다. 이러한 정원은 설해원의 청량한 하늘빛과 어우러져 증축 공간과 공간을 연결하는 ‘빛의 통로’로 작용한다. 빛은 평면적 건축공간을 입체적으로 변화시키며, 지붕 단면에 형성된 다양한 깊이의 볼륨을 통해 새로운 공간성을 만든다. 산과 바다의 빛은 이곳에서 건축적 질감으로 다시 태어난다.

The remodeling of the Seolhaeone Clubhouse goes beyond a functional expansion, and represents an attempt to reinterpret the meaning of the “garden” that Seolhaeone requires. The garden is no longer merely a landscape element, but is expanded into an architectural device that restores the identity of the place.

In architecture, the garden is not a traditional landscaped space, but an imaginative space filled with the texture of light. This garden harmonizes with Seolhaeone’s clear sky light and functions as a “corridor of light” that connects the newly added spaces. Light transforms flat architectural space into a three-dimensional experience, generating new spatial qualities through volumes of varying depth formed within the roof section. The light of the mountains and the sea is reborn here as an architectural texture.
