[KTX Parking Complex]

울산시의 새로운 중심지에 위치한 KTX Parking Complex는 주차 부족과 상업 프로그램이 중첩된 복합적 도시 조건에 대응하는 프로젝트이다. 한국 건축 규정에 따른 주차 70%, 상업 30%의 구조 속에서, 저층부는 상업시설로 대중성을 확보하고 상층부는 웨딩홀과 컨벤션 공간으로 구성되며, 이를 연결하는 중간 주차장을 통해 수직적 프로그램을 유연하게 조직했다. 파사드는 하부의 알루미늄 루버 유리 파사드로 KTX의 속도를 표현하고, 주차 영역은 타공 알루미늄 패널로 빛의 상호작용을 드러내며, 최상부는 울산 바다와 튤립을 형상화한 곡선 패널로 마감되어 전체적으로 hub이자 transit gateway로서의 건축적 개념을 구현한다.

Located in Ulsan’s new urban center, the KTX Parking Complex responds to complex urban conditions where parking shortages and commercial programs overlap. Under Korean building regulations requiring a composition of 70% parking and 30% commercial space, the lower levels secure public accessibility through retail functions, while the upper levels consist of wedding halls and convention spaces. An intermediate parking layer connects these programs, enabling a flexible vertical organization.

The façade reflects this spatial structure: the lower portion features a glass façade with aluminum louvers that expresses the speed of the KTX; the parking areas are enclosed with perforated aluminum panels that reveal dynamic interactions of light; and the topmost level is finished with curved panels inspired by the waves of the Ulsan sea and the form of a tulip. Altogether, the building embodies the architectural concept of a hub and transit gateway.
