Located in Gwacheon, Eaves House demonstrates how traditional Korean eaves typology can be integrated to meet high environmental and aesthetic standards. The site lies between Gwanaksan Mountain and Cheonggyecheon Stream, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The goal of this project is to create an architectural outcome in which nature and spatial experience coexist. The curved form, inspired by the contours of the surrounding mountains, extends the natural scenery while opening toward the sunlit southeast. The eaves, emphasized as a key design feature, are fundamentally inspired by traditional Korean roofs (cheoma). Beneath them, the structure is composed of white-painted stainless steel pipes, each featuring patterns that reflect traditional Korean aesthetics. These layered lines filter sunlight during the day and control the illumination emitted from the integrated lighting system at night.
